Club Rules
1. Membership of the club shall be at the discretion of the committee
and the proprietors of Wyre Hall Farm
2. The committee shall be one chair, one secretary, one treasurer and
a safety officer; these positions are on a voluntary basis.
3. The committee will decide fees on an annual basis.
4. Wyre Hall Farm will review permission to use the woods annually on
October 1st.
5. All members must be members of the NFAS and have completed a recognised
archery course for beginners.
6. Any archer shooting the course does so at his or her own risk. Neither
the committee nor the proprietors of Wyre Hall Farm accepts any responsibility
for damage to equipment or accidents occurring to persons using the course.
7. To qualify for membership in the following year every member will
be expected to attend at least one working day to maintain the course
and targets and keep the woods free of litter.
8. Any member wishing to bring a visitor onto the ground must advise
the chair or secretary of their intention and pay a fee of £2 per
person to the treasurer. All visiting archers must have completed a beginner's
course and have experience of shooting. Members must take full responsibility
for any visitor they bring onto the course and ensure that they are aware
of the rules of conduct and safety of the club.
9. No visiting archer may use the course without a member of the club
accompanying them
10. Cars must park on the road, not in the car park of Wyre Hall farm.
11. All users of the wood are requested to respect the flora and fauna
of the woods.
12. Any extended use of the grounds must be agreed with the proprietors
of Wyre Hall Farm.
13. All faces, bosses and related equipment are the property of Wyre
Hall Field Archers and not to be removed without the prior permission
of the committee.
14. Archers applying for membership of the club must apply to the secretary
and, in the first instance be supervised by a member of the committee.
15. As the club has a limited membership any applicant may have to join
a waiting list.
16. Any member abusing NFAS safety rules or the above rules will be asked
to leave the club. There is no right of appeal.
17 A parent or guardian, while attending W.H.F.A., must company persons
under the age of 18 years, or written permission given to a named member/members
to act as loco parentus.
Club Safety Rules
a) All club members must be competent archers and agree
to comply with NFAS field safety rules before commencing
any unsupervised shooting on the Wyre Hall Field Course
or attending NFAS open competitions.
b) The warning sign must be displayed at the start of
the course when members are shooting. This is kept in
the shed.
c) If there are more than two groups shooting the course
there must be at least one free target between each group.
d) Spotting is not allowed.
e) Use common sense when returning to the start of the
course or leaving the field. Do not walk in front of or
distract other archers who may be using the course.
f) One archer must remain in front of the target if searching
for lost arrows. When shooting alone leave equipment prominently
in front of the target.
g) No shooting will be allowed during a working day.
h) Please be alert to all possible dangers not just from
archers shooting but also from slippery walkways, etc.
If you see any potential hazards report them to the chair
or secretary as soon as possible.
i) Any accident must be reported to the above members.
j) Irresponsible shooting or behaviour that endangers
others will result in that person's club membership being
cancelled. This ruling will apply to members representing
Wyre Hall at open tournaments.
