January 2006 Newsletter

Dear all,

First a heartfelt thank you to those of you who have helped to keep the shoot in good order over the winter and have helped to change faces etc.

It was nice to see those who came to the pig shoot. Despite the cold 18 turned up and enjoyed a fun day, with the fire in the barbeque proving popular at half time. There were some good scores and the winner was Paul Whitehead, closely contested by Paul Curotto. It proved to be a good introduction for our newest members, who will no doubt be getting the “bug”.

The clout shoots are becoming more and more popular with a steady 6-8 attending, often in the freezing cold and thoroughly enjoying themselves. The undoubted champions at the moment are Dave Haley and Claire Marshall. Claire has taken to shooting 180yards and beating the guys!

A warm welcome to all our new members Trevor Jackson being the latest. I apologies to anyone I have not mentioned in person.

Our warmest good wishes go to Andy and Natalie who are getting married in April. Good luck to you both.

We will continue the clouts for as long as possible while the grass is still short.
