A warm hello to you all,
The final newsletter of 2005, so if we don’t bump into you between
now and then a very happy Christmas and a merry New Year.
The annual club champs was again a very enjoyable time,
with 17 members attending. The weather once more was on
our side staying dry, and the barbeque sent aromas round
the wood to tempt the hungry. The course was a mixture
of paper faces and 3Ds, and proved to be interesting and
challenging having been carefully planned by Les and Derek
( Bob was there as well, but who is he?). Thanks to the
three musketeers!
Results:
Hunting tackle: Gent: Bob Whitehead (who?)
Lady: Elsa Tweedale
Barebow: Gent: Paul Whitehead ( no relation to Bob)
Lady Claire Marshall
Longbow: Gent: Mark Tweedale
Poachers Arrow: Gill St Quintin
Club Champ: Mark Tweedale
A well done to all and especially to Les who battled it out with Bob(who?)
in a very exciting shoot off for 1st place.
A warm welcome to our new members Sean Lockwood, Les Bilbrough and Andrew
Bibrough, also welcome back to Bob Whitehead ( Oh him), even if he did
win on his first shoot for over a year, youth eh!
Thanks again to those who helped at the working day and on other occasions,
it really does help to keep the wood and targets in working order. You
should have received new membership cards, designed and crafted by Derek,
who also made the base for the fabulous new club champ trophy. Also thanks
to Les who provided the magnificent boa constrictor target, who you will
no-doubt meet in the future.
Our best wishes go to Karon who has been missed on the shooting circuit
due to a back injury, and Bernard who has torn a tendon in his shooting
arm.
Although the clout shoots have not been well attended (often just 2
of us), we will still continue in the new year on the dates given, as
we enjoy them. We are also hoping to put on the famous pig shoot, and
the club 3Ds towards Easter.
Please remember that N.F.A.S membership is due for renewal
by 1st January. The majority of club members have sent
their £10 to join through the club, if you want
to join through the club please send a cheque for £10
made out to N.F.A.S to Mary as soon as possible. Those
who prefer to join independently please let us know your
